Guest Author J.S. Nichols...and a Great Give-away!

I'm so pleased to welcome J.S. Nichols today. She's here to tell us about her new release, Come Back to Me. She's also offering a free pdf of the story and romance trading cards to one lucky commenter. Be sure to check back after Friday for the winner.

Please tell us a little about your story

Come Back To Me is a romantic suspense about a security specialist who boards a ship and discovers a singles cruise is the hunting ground for a human trafficker.
Sailing around the Caribbean to the picturesque island of Ballena Azul sounded like the perfect vacation to Erin Brady.  Until her ex showed up.
Ryan McKinnon boarded the cruise with one thought in mind, win back his former fiancée. Then news of a missing woman lands them in the middle of a mystery of disappearances.
Can they overcome their past mistakes and work together to unmask the kidnapper? Or will Erin be the next victim of a human trafficker?

Tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
My latest work in progress is a lighter story with a little less suspense and little more humor.
A reluctant psychic is haunted by a ghost with ties to a cop on the trail of jewelry thieves.
Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
My pen name is J.S. Nichols but my legal name is Mary Behre (pronounced Merry Berry). J

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Given my choice, I’d live in the Tidewater (Virginia Beach) area.  It’s why all of my stories are either set in Tidewater or have characters from there.

When you’re not writing, which authors are on your “go to” list?
My favorites authors have excellent character development and compelling stories. So here they are in no particular order, Beverly Barton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Suzanne Brockmann, Lynsay Sands and Lora Leigh.

Where can readers find you on the web?
Readers can find me at http://jsnichols.net or at my new website (currently under construction) http://maryabehre.com

I love hearing from readers, so please stop by and chat with me often! J

  1. I love this cover, I love all the covers with SBP. The romance trading cards seem interesting, something I think I want to investigate for my own book. Now I just might look into it. The story sounds very interesting.

  3. I already have a copy of the book, so don't enter me in the drawing.

The cover is so awesome! I thought Tidewater was a made-up location. It's real? Have you lived there before? And what makes it so special?

  4. Thank you for commenting Selena and Abigail!

Tidewater is real...sort of. Tidewater is what we called the Norfolk/Chesapeake/Virginia Beach area where I lived for many years.

You won't find it on a map, but check out the Weather Channel during the next hurricane aimed at Southern Virginia. They'll refer to it as Tidewater. :)

And what's not to love about Tidewater? There's the Oceanfront views, the Chesapeake Bay, more than five active military bases, beautiful people, all the comforts and conveniences of city life but big back yards, and warmer winters than I get in northern Virginia! :)

Not to mention the disproportionate number of beautiful people, outdoor dining, and that great down-home southern hospitality.

Yep, Tidewater is a slice of heaven!

  5. And I'm sure you're only looking at those beautifil and military males for purely research purposes, right? ;)

And for those reading along, Come Back to Me is super hot, super suspenseful, and I highly recommend it.

  6. Actually, I married one of those beautiful military males! :)

Thanks for the kudos on the book. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

  7. Okay, so it looks like some folks are having a little trouble logging on today.

One creative person sent me her comment and granted me permission to post it. So here it goes.

"I tried my Google ID and it didn’t work. Sad smile Here’s my comment:

I'm excited about the psychic and the ghost in the upcoming novel! LOL

I do have a question for you. Pen names come to us in such interesting ways. How did you come up with Jess Nichols?

Please enter me in the drawing. I have heard great things about Come Back to Me and it's time for me to dive back into reading after a long hiatus. " --Jamie Disterhaupt

  8. Hi Jamie,

To answer your question, my family picked out my pen name, J.S. Nichols. Jess came about when my critique partner started saying J.S. as one word, Jess. The nickname stuck. :)

  9. That cover is seriously gorgeous! Thanks for the awesome interview and I'll be patiently waiting for that WIP to hit the shelves. It sounds so awesome :).

The Tidewater sounds like a fabulous place and I love it when authors choose settings outside the norm. Learning about new places is one of the reasons I love reading. Thanks for that.
